Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs are full of big gums, plane trees, liquidambars and established gardens, and those trees spend most of the year dropping leaves, gum nuts, twigs and bark into the gutters. Left alone, it turns into wet compost, weeds sprout in the channel, and the first heavy downpour spills over the fascia or backs up under the roof edge.

What our Eastern Suburbs gutter cleaning includes
The aim is a clear path from the roof to the stormwater, not a quick hose that pushes sludge onto the garden.
- Gutters emptied by hand, including corners, valleys and box gutters

Bigger faults need a different trade. If a gutter has dropped and holds water, a joint has pulled apart or a downpipe has collapsed, we will point it out and tell you it needs a roofer or plumber. A flush will not fix that, and we will not pretend it will.
How a visit works
When you call 0433 230 310, it helps to know the number of storeys, which trees sit over the roof, and whether you have had overflow before. Gums, pines, plane trees and liquidambars are the usual trouble around here. Pines shed all year.
We quote before we start. On the day we set up safely, work along each run, lift the wet material out, and flush until the downpipe runs clear. Compost is not dumped on the path under the ladder. If a section is holding water because it has sagged, we point it out rather than call the job finished and hope you miss it next time it rains.

We clean gutters on single and double storey homes. Single storey runs are usually done from a ladder. Upper gutters take more setting up, so we plan safe access before we start. Mention the number of storeys when you call.
Units, townhouses and owners corporations

A clean gutter does not help much if the downpipe below it is blocked. We flush each one and check the water runs through.
Gutter guards
Guards keep big leaves out, but fine debris still builds up underneath. We lift the guards, clear the channel and refit them. If a guard is damaged or loose, we will tell you. If you do not have guards yet, we can fit simple gutter guards on request once the gutters are clean.
Leaf season in the Eastern Suburbs
Late autumn, once the deciduous trees have dropped, is a good time to clear the gutters before winter rain. Gums shed bark and nuts through summer, so a second clean before bushfire season is worth considering. Have panels on the roof? Ask about solar panel cleaning on the same visit.

How do I know the gutters are blocked?
Overflow in rain is the obvious sign: water pouring over the front edge instead of running down the pipe. Other clues are plants growing in the gutter, damp marks on the fascia, a musty smell in the eaves or a downpipe that stays silent in a storm.
How often should gutters be cleaned in the Eastern Suburbs?
Once a year can be enough with little tree cover, ideally before winter. Most blocks with established trees need a clean every six months, after the autumn leaf drop and again after the summer fall of gum nuts and bark. Under pines or big gums, a check every few months is more realistic.
Can you clean gutters that have gutter guards?

Do you flush the downpipes?
